Saying viewership of "Andor" isn't as high as "Skeleton Crew" therefore Disney will never do a prestige drama targeted mainly at adults again is like saying the viewership of "Young Jedi Adventures" isn't as high as "Ahsoka" so Disney will never do an animated project mainly targeted at kids again.

The dialog in every scene of the movies isn't word-for-word, beat-for-beat identical to the dialog in the novelization or the comic adaptation or the radio drama or the storybooks... so why is it an issue that it isn't identical between live-action TV (Andor) and animated TV (Rebels)?

So not including alt text is bad and makes my content inaccessible to visually impaired people and makes me ableist and evil.

But including alt text is also apparently bad and makes my content fuel for training AI models and make me an AI-bro and evil.

So what am I supposed to do here?

Let Lucasfilm Animation cook....

So I've seen 3 ads for "The Acolyte" (now streaming on Disney+) on YouTube today. Disney is spending money to promote a show they "canceled" 7 months ago (and a month before another Star Wars show has its big season 2 debut)? Don't know what to make if it but they should just #RenewTheAcolyte.

I'd focus on Star Wars as modern mythology. Myths teach values, culture, and morals. I'd clearly define the core values—politically, culturally and morally—and ensure all projects align with that vision. Star Wars should have a strong agenda beyond just fun spaceships, cool aliens, and laserswords.
Genuine question - if you were the new head of LucasFilm, what would you do to revitalise the Star Wars franchise?

If you have mutual funds, retirement plans, or any other managed investments, you might be invested in Tesla (or other Musk Co's) without realizing it.

Contact your financial provider and ask them to divest due to ongoing risks and ethical controversies or you'll need to take your money elsewhere.

Hey, Disney --- Lucasfilm is more than just Star Wars!!

Do more stuff like Indiana Jones, Willow, Monkey Island, Red Tails, Maniac Mansion, Labyrinth, Young Indy, Strange Magic, American Graffiti, or any new and original worlds and stories.... it doesn't all have to be lightsabers and spaceships.

Disney, please don't put a Gen-Xer in charge of Lucasfilm.

They mostly tend to have a nostalgic-driven, limited-view relationship with Star Wars (and Indy) shaped by the OT’s release when they were 3-18 and the PT hitting when they were 20-35.

7 Star Was Celebration predictions:

1) "Andor" season 2 premiere (possibly even moving the worldwide debut on Disney+ up by 3-4 days).

2) "Visions" volume 3 release date announced (and an episode or two screened for attendees).

3) A new animated series announced.

4) New Lego special announced.

Despite what the grifters say, Lucasfilm isn't rushing scripts or fast-tracking casting deals for multi-million dollar movies just to meet the arbitrary deadline set by a fan convention in Japan. They'll have plenty to announce and show regardless; Celebration is not dictating production timelines.

Quick rant about streaming Lucasfilm titles—

So Disney+ has a nice little "Lucasfilm Collection" page on the platform. It's mostly just tons of "Star Wars" stuff and the big 5 "Indiana Jones" movies...and then the "Willow" film, "Red Tails," "Strange Magic"...and a handful of related documentaries.

I love the immersive concept of Galaxy’s Edge, but the rigid need to adhere everything to canon instead of prioritizing storytelling and unique experiences feels limiting.

Explain to a normal family that they can't get a photo with Darth Vader or JarJar Binks simply because it would break "lore." 🙄

PREDICTION: The "Andor" season 2 trailer will drop sometime between March 10-21.

Likely on a Tuesday or Friday (so either 3/11, 3/14, 3/18, or 3/21).
February 10, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Too many fans view trailers as "content" and they want fun new content to consume, but they forget that trailers are just commercials.

Releasing a stand-alone montage of clips for a weekly streaming series in February isn't necessarily the way to get people to watch and subscribe in April.

Number of days between trailer release and the show's debut:

• The Mandalorian S1—15
• The Mandalorian S2—45
• The Book of Boba Fett—58
• Obi-Wan Kenobi—23
• Andor S1—11
• The Mandalorian S3—44
• Ahsoka—42
• The Acolyte—31
• Skeleton Crew—31
AVERAGE—33 Days

We're 71 days out from Andor season 2.

So why do competitive sports even need to be gendered?

If for "fairness" sake, then just have "classes"/"divisions" based on height, weight, hormone-level, or whatever is relevant to that competition. Why is gender/sex/genitals a part of the equation? And especially for things like chess or darts?

Where do people go for positive news? Places to find hope. Real facts. Legislative victories. Court rulings. Social justice progress at the state or international level. Tired of doom-scrolling through the sensational headlines, clickbait, ragebait, non-story chaos, or just trivial feel-good fluff.

Call them what you want—holding facilities, mass detention centers, internment camps, concentration camps, gulags, whatever. The name doesn’t change this truth:

The people inside are human beings. Stripping away their basic human rights isn’t justice. It’s dehumanization. It’s cruelty. It’s evil.

I wish all the "Plo Koon in The Mandalorian season 2 finale" stuff actually leaked more and people concocted whole theories to justify his return and then when he didn't show up they'd either blame Kathleen Kennedy for taking Plo away from them or mock her for her failing to make Plo return.

Twitter gives people 280 characters in a Tweet.
Bluesky gives you 300 characters in a Skeet.
So we could all just use those extra 20 characters to add #RenewTheAcolyte at the end of every post here.
