It was a real pleasure to work on this amendment and to have drafted the briefing that Baroness Glenys Thornton thanked the Parent-Infant Foundation for.

I was pleased with Minister Jacqui Smith's response and am looking forward to the best start in life strategy being published later this year.
The House of Lords is currently debating amendments to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.

We supported Lord Russell with his amendment calling for a comprehensive early years strategy, including the rollout of #StartforLife, improved data collection & a national social care workforce plan.

Sharon Hodgson MP really understands this work. It was great to be able to showcase Little Minds in Mind as an excellent example of parent-infant relationship support and to talk through our ambitions for the Start for Life programme.
@bencurran.bsky.social and @childrennortheast.bsky.social met with @sharonhodgsonmp.bsky.social recently to talk about their 'Little Minds in Mind' parent-infant relationship service and the Start for Life programme.

Sharon also heard how important local services are from local families.

@pippaheylings.bsky.social asked whether Start for Life services could be extended to every area of England, including to her South Cambridgeshire constituency.

The government confirmed that it holds the ambition to ensure that start for life services reach every child.
