Sponsor: VATable

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/sponsorship-and-vat-notice-70141

If you're giving sponsors tickets, that's a VATable supply and you should pay the VAT on it even though you aren't charging the sponsor directly for the ticket.

If you're giving away your own goods and services worth less that £50 per person per year it's fine.

@fak I write the box office ticketing software. Until now I've just recorded comps and the accountants have figured it out, but now the accountants are telling me that Making Tax Digital means that I need to report on the correct VAT amounts and they need to go into the accounting software […]

Imagine you are the organiser of a small arts festival. You issue a complimentary ticket at no charge to each of - a performer's mother, a sponsor of the festival, a member of your board of trustees, and a volunteer who is working for the festival.

Like as a weird example: there's this regular complaint that companies never think beyond the next quarter. I'm not sure that was ever completely true, but now you regularly have powerful people making financial bets that, in order to square, mean the world will be insanely different in 5-10 years.

Dear Mastodon

Last night I finished the last bit of DLC for Control. Which game, out of the ones that I have hopefully bought but then not played over the last years of looking after children instead of having time for playing computer games, should I play next?
A list of computer games -

Alien Isolation
Crusader Kings II
Fallout 4
GTA V
Grounded
Grow Home
Heavy Rain
KSP
No Man's Sky
Subnautica

Oh plus I've got Disco Elysium but not on Steam.
