My first visit to Opernhaus Zurich didn’t disappoint - Jaho and Bernheim in a stunning La Rondine coupled with a concert of the Dvorak VC and Ein Heldenleben the following morning. I may be back there sooner than I first thought…😂

Will I ever hear a performance of Mahler 8 as good as the one I heard on Sunday with the Bayerische Staatsorchester? The work simply flew by under Kirill Petrenko, with the amassed forces gleaming in this glorious acoustic. The soloists too - phwoar! Very, very lucky to have been there.
