I reckon that at around 620k sick days over 30.8m work days. Around 2%. That's very good - especially considering the physically demanding / contact nature of the role. The message seems to be the opposite of what it should say.

isn't it a) osborn stopped all inward investment in the machinary of state so operations become more expensive / less productive, then b) the ostensible savings were wiped out by Brexit and Covid leaving us in a 'worst of all possible worlds' scenario ?

It's not true though. If anything is happening it's that failure demand is pushing operating costs up across government as a result of reduced investment. Certainly Osborn's massive strategic & ecomonic error.

Doesn't digital just mean there would be chip on a physical card which held a machine readable payload? Brit card is both offensive and, as my kids would say, cringe

If we're completely sure about the nature of the dimorphism, would be really interesting to try to find the selective pressures causing the shift - may explain quite a bit of stuff.
