First rain of the monsoon! I have so much to do but it's good to take a minute to sit on my porch in the cool damp and listen to the rain mixed with the sounds of downtown. It's a lovely balm to the stress of the day before release!

Still working on final edits for Monsoon, and then the special art for the limited edition book boxes, but I've also started my next* book. It was coming along vaguely until this idea settled, and now I have a plot and a title!

Last year I needed a book idea, so I went to a site that randomized tropes to see what sparked. If you didn't know, I love tropes! I am Ms. Tropey McTropester. They're fun to read, fun to use...and even more fun to subvert.

Rust update! I did some stuff with vinegar, salt & hydrogen peroxide - look how pretty the rust is getting! Probably will do 1 more round before clearcoat.
I'm taking the class again this fall! It'll be so fun to play with the CNC plasma cutter again... and hopefully develop actual welding skill!

Pima Theater project! Made a prickly pear for the Borderline set so we had at least 1 (non-injurious) cactus. Started with a few base paddles of stiff styrofoam, added soft-sculpture paddles of upholstery foam & tights & painted. Photos show process & final on set. I made the saguaro skeleton, too!
