It was working for rich people, but half the country was on the edge of poverty. I guess if you think people not being able to afford basic things like housing or healthcare is good, I'm not sure I'm the unserious one here.

Whatever. Bye.

I dunno. The last administration was doing a genocide for over a year going into the election. Seems pretty bad.

The economy was also bad. Might have been a good idea to try to make them improve things enough that people didn't turn around and give Trump a second term.
July 31, 2025 at 3:01 PM
That's kind of the point. Bad things are still happening when Dems are in charge, and these people vanish because their team won.

"Replying to people that are replying to you, huh." 😏

Okay, I thought we were having a conversation but apparently you're just wasting my time. Bye.

I'm not defending that. Please point to anywhere I have.

I'm calling people out for lying about what they are being criticized over and trying to use identity as a shield against valid criticism.
July 31, 2025 at 2:17 PM
That isn't what bothers people and you know it. Don't strawman.

It doesn't bother me. I'm just relaying other people's criticisms. I haven't thought about this brunch shit in years. What bothers me is people trying to rewrite history and make the criticism into something it isn't and never was.
July 31, 2025 at 2:11 PM
No, calling someone a brunch liberal is a meme. Do you only make disingenuous arguments?
July 31, 2025 at 2:02 PM
It's also about the implication that having to miss brunch is a hardship worth mentioning as compared to the actual harms people are facing.

People are losing their rights. Missing brunch is not exactly on the same level as what other people are marching over.
July 31, 2025 at 1:59 PM
The criticism over the signs is for specifically saying that they would not be protesting anything if a democrat had won. The people making the signs are the ones making it about brunch in particular.

People do make fun of huge, expensive trucks, too. Not sure what you're getting at.
July 31, 2025 at 1:49 PM
I dunno man, I feel like it isn't SPECIFICALLY associated with *Hillary Clinton!* since people were making those same signs for the last election where she wasn't a candidate.

Maybe people should stop putting it on signs if they don't want to be called out for the same thing for a decade? 🤪
July 31, 2025 at 1:35 PM
It's a meme. Seems to me like the "hit dogs" here are the ones getting bent out of shape and trying to slander people by pretending a five year old meme is actually a misogynist or homophobic slur because they feel called out and all they know how to do is weaponize identity politics.
July 30, 2025 at 9:19 PM
The criticism was because it was seen as tone-deaf, privileged, and emblematic of the liberal tendency to check out and ignore everything Dems did once the elections were over, not because women were doing it.

Trying to make it about identity is extremely disingenuous, if not just an outright lie.

Sorry, but this is just ahistorical bs.

It's a direct response to the "we'd be at brunch" signs libs were making about themselves. You can google that quote for several examples, as well as five-year-old articles written about it.

Notice that the first thing said after he finishes is "we're out of time."

They have limited time to work with. Slowing down means leaving out information or being cut off. He's doing a fantastic job making complex points within the allotted time.
