In other news, I’m off to see my favourite band ever, @garbage.com! Got fingers crossed there’ll be extra packages available. PS the AUD119.00 for GA is a bargain; thanks for coming to little ol’ Adelaide.

Meanwhile over at Music Gaga things are ticking along; 7K followers in seven weeks. People are really responding to the birthday/death-day nostalgia. Although there’s a definite pattern to which era gets the better interactions. Most posts about bands like Rush, Who, Deep Purple, and Canned Heat…

A taste of today’s housework playlist.

31 song downloads and one album so far, since April 💪

This letter to the @thetiser.bsky.social is spot on. A Member of Parliament here in South Australia tabled “evidence” to a committee, and it turns out the links were AI-generated.

Hit 1 million views on my Facebook music page today, after less than three months of active posting. While it’s a page celebrating all genres, so far all the reels with over 100K views are 70s groups (Canned Heat, Deep Purple, Rolling Stones).

Reading up on Dinah Washington as today would have been her birthday. This passage made me chuckle; a reminder that songs past could be just as wicked as those of today. Perhaps even more so, given societal standards back in the 40s and 50s.

Here’s my download list of songs from the iTunes store since April this year. My goal has been at least one download per week, but averaging more. It’s been helped by discovering new music 🕺 do you download many songs?

My song downloads so far this year. A few ahead of the eight that I downloaded for all of 2024!

Another classic newspaper headline, in today’s Sunday Mail. Could someone at @thetiser.bsky.social please pass on my thumbs up 😆

I swear they know I’m trying my hardest to not like them.

Another great piece by Angela Mollard on how we as humans are flexing our “social interaction” muscle less and less. Unfortunately the world now is geared towards having a “personal” experience. Anything can be done online. But nothing can replicate a genuine human interaction.

Transvision Vamp touring Australia in 2026, and I’m going. 27 years since they were last here, I’m not missing this 🤘

The kitten trying to annoy tf out of the older “street” cat (he was rescued from the street by the rescue agency that we ended up adopting him through).

I never imagined that the camera I loved and used as a child I would one day use to take photos of my own children. Life, hey?

My parents have been running a wholesale/retail floral business for a number of years. Through drought and freezing temps (welcome to south east Queensland) they have persevered. And this is the product quality and quantity they are now coming up with. Inspirational. Check out hoksteadplantation.com

James Morrow in today’s @thetiser.bsky.social suggesting that the (illegal and unjustified) US bombing of Iran is going to slow or stop the oppression of women and political foes in that country would be laughable it wasn’t so dangerously disingenuous.

I second this; I’ll be the one lining up behind Paul @thetiser.bsky.social

Just came across this in Pete Townshend’s book 🤣

It’s a bit disappointing to see @thetiser.bsky.social downplay the protest numbers. And not even by a little bit. Even if the 11 million is grossly exaggerated, this is gross under-reporting. You only have to watch a fraction of the hundreds of protest videos available to see this.

I don’t really like cats, but sometimes I don’t really like them a little less.

I’m not suggesting everyone should get familiar with their neighbour/s, but I’m saying there’s sometimes benefits if you do.

I agree with David Penberthy here. While I align with the left, I make sure I read views that oppose mine so that I give an argument the fullest consideration that I can. If the left de-platforms the right simply because they don’t agree with their argument, then they are no better themselves.
