I would hazard a guess at “without immigration, our economy is screwed”

Thanks - yes, usual whinging about boots etc 😂 but hot chocolates seemed to do the trick!

The answer to the big question was a resounding “no” 😂

It’s hard for the brain to process that it’s over - we’ll never exchange small talk at the school gates again, or discuss trail running events 😞

I’d assumed that he’d be part of the fabric of my life at least until the kids left school. So sad, and a tragedy for his daughter. We are all fragile.

Would actually be a huge win for society if this encouraged a few cash-poor elderly folks in big houses to downsize

We work from home & schools / town are walking distance so never an issue really to get around. And the way the tourists drive & park in the snow it’s usually better to leave the car anyway!

I agree, the snow gets annoying very quickly, especially when it melts. We rarely get a lot of snow like this in the valley though, only a few times a year

Great bounce-back win on the road after chucking it away on Saturday. 6/7 is still pretty good….

No, more for them the cost, stress & time away from work

Yeah, lots of desperate folks in the test centre, many Brits unprepared for B1 but knowing that they have zero chance when it goes to B2 next year.

Also spoke to a Moroccan guy, said the requirements are getting stricter every year as the French gov are doing their own immigration crackdown 🫤

The bit I went through was slow but ok, no roadworks. Just the connecting road from the motorway into town

Arrived back just in time for kids pick-up. No sign of dog-related toilet issues 😆

Apart from the issues with PC & headphones, all went well. Definitely got a few listening comprehension wrong but the oral itself went pretty well - hopefully met the B1 threshold, should know in a week 🤞🏼

£148k tax for a £1.2m home, £93k ISA plus whatever other assets? So about 10%. Seems like a bargain to me.

The probate situation does sound a bit counter-productive though. Is there no way to pay it through the liquidation of assets (property) in the estate?
