Accountability does not always mean a punitive action. But it does mean making amends. And the more we make excuses for harmful behavior and run cover for it, the more the harm compounds. And if we’re not reducing harm, we’re exacerbating it.

Cancel culture is just a deflection from accountability.

If a child loses a privilege because they’ve done something wrong, have they been canceled? Or have they been held accountable?

I want to know why we lose this clarity when it comes to adults. Either actions have consequences or they don’t. Either we want accountability or we don’t. It’s not hard.

Heads up, you don’t get to keep an entire people group in bondage for 400 years based on the color of their skin and build an infrastructure on prioritizing white people and then ask why everything is about the color of skin.
