So, one of my favorite new authors has revealed the cover for her new book! It's the second in her Y/A Fantasy "Shadows of the Vale" series, which I can personally recommend! It comes out on Amazon on Jan 19, 2026.

It's a sword-and-planet RPG, set on a world where humanity bumps elbows with the original inhabitants, and vat-creatures that cause all kinds of trouble! Here's a city, ruled over by 7 guilds.

May I present...noon chai! A Kashmiri method for brewing pink tea from green tea leaves. Baking soda is added in the process, and the tea's polyphenols act as a chemical indicator, turning pink! I've been practising, and this is the best I've done.

So, I made a schedule that actually works for me! So far, anyway. Nothing enforced hour-by-hour, but a chart I can look at and say, "Hey, I haven't done this thing for a while! Let's spend some time on that!"

Best recently-published book I read last year: "When Shadows Fall" by Lindy Enns! Machines that run on emotions, a world that fills with monsters at night, and a protagonist with crippling anxiety!

In case you ever find yourself panicking about a mistake--my Mom took a photo of my Grandpa and me fixing a storm door. The flash failed, and she thought the moment was lost. Instead, it turned out brilliantly, and years later, Dad produced this painting from it.
