Whilst Chris Chibnall’s Doctor Who era isn’t my fave he IS a brilliant crime writer and Broadchurch is the best crime drama ever written. Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting Chris and hearing him talk about his writing process as he launched his debut novel Death at the White Hart.

I thought #TheWomanInTheYard would be a simple horror film instead it was an emotional rollercoaster with expert sound & light design, building continuous dread the likes of which I’ve not seen since Paranomal Activity. It also deals with an important topic. Great cast too!

Finally watched Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. A beautiful tribute to a truly remarkable man who embodied the values of Superman and was a hero his whole life.

#TheLastShowgirl is a sad but beautiful commentary on the double standards women face as they age as well as on delusion. No one else could’ve played the lead role as well as Pamela Anderson - a career best! Jamie Lee Curtis and Billie Lourd also gave spectacular performances.

I remember seeing the trailer for #TheMonkey for the first time and being very intrigued but also worried because I didn’t like Osgood Perkins’ last film (Longlegs) but holy shit, this film was incredible! It had jumps, it had laughs and plenty of gore! Horror comedy at its best!

I think #Companion is one of the most original movies I’ve seen in ages and it explores some very timely themes.
I really don’t wanna say too much though as I’d advise seeing this film the way I did - watching no trailers, reading no spoilers and going in blind. So much fun!

Heartbroken about David Lynch dying and not fully processed it yet. I connect with his work on such a spiritual level and have made amazing friends thanks to his work. He is one of my all time favourite filmmakers and a true visionary the likes of which we will never see again.

I thought #Nosferatu was a gothic masterpiece. Robert Eggers did a great job creating a creepy, unsettling movie. The cast were excellent with no weak link amongst them. the cinematography was gorgeous. The pacing was a little off though (20 mins too long perhaps).

When I first saw the trailer for #BetterMan I was like “Wtf !” but honestly, take a chance on this movie as it’s beautiful and exceeded expectations! An emotive story that isn’t afraid to highlight the highs AND the lows of Robbie Williams’ life. @sjpemberton.bsky.social was amazing too!
