BREAKING: Two days after a press conference announcing the WHL's arrival, Chilliwack mayor Ken Popove appeared on the 89.5 JRFM morning show and stated he doesn't think the team's arrival is the right move.

Trademark news: The Edmonton Elks have filed for the Edmonton Eskimos standard characters trademark.

The team was known as the Eskimos from 1949 until 2020. The Elks name was adopted in 2021.

For those interested here is the history of the Chilliwack Bruins trademarks. They never actually had the "C wheel" design approved (probably because it's similar to Boston).

The logo below was approved, but not renewed when it expired in October 2024.

BREAKING: Ownership of the Chilliwack Coliseum will revert back to the City of Chilliwack starting on May 1. It was previously under a public-private partnership with the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs.

This opens up the building to other tenants (like the WHL).

Less than a month until the Jordan Peterson show at the Abbotsford Centre.

The yellow dots are VIP packages which range in price from $276 to $726. He recently had to cancel tour shows in Ottawa, Kelowna and Victoria.

The Abbotsford show is set for April Fool’s Day.

UPDATE: Capilano University is the new host of the Pacwest bball provincials.

The release from the league states that the relocation is not a reflection of Columbia Bible College’s ability to host, but out of caution (?).

They don’t explain what they mean by caution 🤷🏻‍♂️

BREAKING: Abbotsford's Columbia Bible College will no longer be hosting the Pacwest basketball provincials.

This comes after a three-month Pacwest investigation following accusations of hateful behaviour by Bearcats head coach Taylor Claggett to a trans student-athlete on the VIU Mariners

The VIU Mariners have acknowledged that the investigation is over and they are pleased with the results.

Adding that "the decision reinforces the importance of upholding principles of respect, equity, and inclusion with collegiate athletics."

Trademark news: The newest team in the QMJHL appears to be the Newfoundland Regiment. They will be playing out of St. John's.

Players on the CBC Bearcats women's basketball have released a letter responding to some of the claims by VIUMariners women's basketball players.

They state that the Mariners have violated Pacwest social media and do not have justification for refusing to play last weekend
