I wish they'd just be honest and say 'Being a comedian is mostly really badly paid, and I would very much like to retire in the next few years'.

Things have really moved on since Colin Powell stood up in the UN and made (up) the case for invading Iraq via Powerpoint.

NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

The rhetoric of the far right is escalating.
Look at ICE in the US. Armed militias kidnapping people off the streets.

We’ve seen this before.
It’s fascism. Imported from the US to British shores by the likes of Farage and Tommy Robinson.

Will you help us fight it?

Finally, after all these years, I’m in the top three percent of something.

A week of hard decisions and tough conversations.

Thank Christ for the good people around me.

We have mandatory e-visas, and before that biometric British Residency Permit (BRP) cards now.

Quite a lot of this stuff has already been tested out on migrants, and quite a lot of the time been found wanting. Which hardly gives me much hope this wont be a mess.

Also, Liz Kendal doesn't either.

I know what you mean. My cats are actually net importers of mice.

And that's not even mentioning how one of them brought a live magpie in the other week, and how it was flying around my kitchen.

It was Bibi who stopped elections 🤷🏻‍♂️

You can point to Israel being as modern and democratic as you like, but the whole world can see them committing a genocide in real time.

Have you called for the release of the thousands of people detained without trial?
benmckenna.bsky.social
Well Hamas are the legitimately elected government of Gaza, propped up by Bibi no less, so calling for them to surrender is as pointless as calling for the IDF to surrender.

Feel free to answer my question any time though.
benmckenna.bsky.social
Calling for the hostages to be released is fine, but it's pretty hollow if you dont also call for the ~10,000 Palestinians held without trial in Israeli jails where abuse, starvation and maltreatment is rife, no?

Which is wild considering his ancestors changed their name from Polanski to avoid antisemitism.

My first season going was 1988/89.

So yeah, whilst I’m old as the hills, it does have one advantage.

This was pre-seating, back in the day when the runoff from the leaky bogs would run down the stairs and freeze in the winter.

I wonder what other officers used the "I was just following orders" defence.

Key to the conservative outlook is the ability to look at the damage austerity (and everything that followed it) did, and blithely dismiss the idea that your policies had anything to do with that.

"15 years ago, Polish workers came here to find opportunity. Now Poland is growing twice as fast as we are," says Kemi Badenoch.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?
benmckenna.bsky.social
Exactly. And don't get me started on that word.

I remember as a kid on the north bank, as soon as that Rangers "hello, hello..." chant went up we'd all awkwardly look at the bloke from Finchley next to us and embarrassedly do an apologetic look.
