Appreciate it! For (1) could “environment” be interpreted as e.g intracellular environment?

Just so happens I was a bit more clear with what my problem was 😊

Sure, and likewise I am allowed to voice my own dismay with their behavior

I don’t understand your point. What issue do you have with my criticism?

All I’m trying to say is that making fun of teachers and their curriculum, esp. when it seems the exercise is an honest attempt to teach, seems counterproductive and elitist.

Instead what we get here is ridicule, which I find elitist

I’m not the one making the original post, or the one with an issue with the question. While you’re right they aren’t necessarily posting in an effort to ‘teach’ others, my 2c is if you’re going to complain about a specific thing, you should point out, specifically, what you think the issue is

Oh that’s interesting, if it’s a MYB I’d have guessed it’d be in a larger group, yeah. But since it seems highly diverged maybe it makes sense — we know it’s a MYB from conserved binding domain but high sequence divergence and uncertainty in gene trees seems like it could give orthofinder trouble

Were you expecting a larger gene family for this particular gene (suggesting some kind of artifact), or just curious about some of the output?
