But that creates one more hurdle: the first payments on the eviction settlement are due in short order starting around the end of the month, and coming up short means I'll just be evicted. Getting the job is important, but that's not going to take care of things right away. 6/

Last week, I finally landed a new job, which helps to make the path forward a little clearer. It's similar to my previous job, which could prove a challenge later, but when you're as far off the edge of the cliff as I am at the moment, you'll take the hand given to you. 5/

I was ultimately unemployed for eight months and have been brought to the brink on both my personal finances and my bills. On top of lots of overdue bills, I've been battling an eviction; I agreed to a settlement, even though it wasn't clear how I'd be able to keep to it. 4/

Unfortunately, outside of being back on air, positives have been hard to come by. Back in May, I lost my job. It wasn't the worst thing; that role was taking a toll on my productivity both at work and outside it. But my hopes to find something better didn't exactly pan out. 3/

On the plus side, I've gotten back on the radio, serving up two shows a week @benzjfm.bsky.social; that returns starting January 26. As much as it felt like I was devoting six days a week to radio at times, it's also brought some genuinely great moments that I wouldn't change for anything. 2/
