I think of them as min/makers who have grown up playing video games and thinking of things in terms of stats like dps and characters are collections of skill trees. Not you know, characters.

One last thing to consider in traditional DND worlds. It’s not just about having good races and bad races. But, there are good god and evil gods. And so many poorly constructed adventures can be reduced to find the bad race that worships the evil god and wipe them out.

See personal growth reflected in their characters. I have a number of queer, trans, and neurodivergent students who get very excited about a pantheon of gods, goddesses, and gender fluid “godes” that reflect their experience.

I’m currently running a DND club at my school, and among the more immature students, they approach like a video game. “What is the best class? What gives me the most advantages?” I’m much more focused on collaborative story-telling in a complex world where students can work on their SEL skills and

We binged season one two weeks ago and have been SAVORING the new season. When David Giuntoli showed up my wife was like, “it’s EDDIE from A Million Little Things,” and I was like, “You mean Nick from Grimm!”

For years my wife and I would walk down to Kendall Square, get ice cream, sit on the MIT quad, and count the moving trucks (waiting for one to get stuck on Storrow Drive). Happy Allston Christmas!

Considering what we now know about brain chemistry, psychology, and obesity, it might be interesting to see how much they blatantly and knowingly got wrong.
