They are exercising double acting.
1) They pose themselves as a superpower that is entitled to do anything they want to. (we will take Ukraine in 3 days)
2) When things aren't going according to plan, they play the victim/martyr card. (couldn't take Ukraine because fighting against the whole NATO) 😅

Found this morning. Their intercontinental missiles are in a questionable state. arstechnica.com/space/2025/1...
The missile meant to strike fear in Russia’s enemies fails once again
One of Vladimir Putin’s favorite sabres to rattle seems to have lost its edge.

Right... that is other part of it :-D They know what should be in place. And we do as well because all their plans for nuclear sites leaked this May :-D euromaidanpress.com/2025/05/29/r...

But then when you look at construction of their Vostochny cosmodrom... arstechnica.com/space/2025/1...
Russia’s underground nuclear missile sites mapped in leak - Euromaidan Press
Danwatch and Der Spiegel analyzed millions of files and hundreds of detailed blueprints, exposing the scope of Russia’s secretive nuclear weapons modernization.

I think USA occasionally buys plutonium from r*sia. They don't make it themselves anymore, and it is the best battery source for long-distance space probes where sunlight is little to none. But I doubt it would be black market trade :-) But I guess they could dismantle the nuke if they want to.

Usually point of having nukes is to claim bragging rights and demonstrate your power. And the list of countries bragging about nukes is not very long. North Korea would be my best guess. You could also dilute weapon-grade uranium into low-enrichment fuel rods. But it would cripple value.
December 1, 2025 at 10:41 PM
All three have nukes. Luckily, nukes were not used at all. I am not sure if that helped to reduce conflict. You probably cannot even use them. Or if you do, it will be one of the last actions.

Does nuke possession qualify a country to become a superpower? Or is it one of the attributes?

It gives you a psychological advantage. r*ssia is amost 4 years in war, they sand motorcycles because they don't have tank, but so far (luckily) they have not used a single nuke.

Meanwhile, Israel has a nukes and was waging war. Even Pakistan and India launched few missiles at each other...

I am not an expert either, but it would not surprise me if broader conflict would include China and USA. They both want to be the world's first. Also China wants Taiwan, which made all world's most high-end chips. And I think r*ssia in such a conflict would play a secondary role.
December 1, 2025 at 11:15 AM
Broad conflicts can be caused by super powers. r*ssia is not a superpower anymore. Their GDP is about the size of Italy. But with all their oil, that will become increasingly less important. They had to beg North Korea for soldiers so they would be able to defend themselves in Kursk.

They are concerned that they would discourage other potential investors from future investments in the EU who might also consider some unlawful invasions, war crimes, or genocides. 🙃😅

Souhlas.

Ale mohl by, kdyby chtěl. Ale je to tak 5 let zpět.
