I know that's very obvious on a platform like this. And I realize the risk of that comment coming off as performative. But it just is still a gut punch and it felt like it calls for something. It feels wrong to let it feel routine and undeserving of a visceral response.

I know this happens to you a lot, and I known you're incredibly resilient and thick-skinned in the face of it, ... but man this is horrific. I'm truly sorry you have to deal with that. You deserve a lot better - and so does anyone else subject to that racial abuse.

Curious about the impact of "defund the police" on response #3. Often seems people assume the slogan negatively polarized people, but I don't know. Without the slogan, does it become a salient policy question? Do they feel more ok saying #2 because rejecting #1 lets them feel safe and moderate?

I'd have no idea how to find the first one since it was interviewing him on the campaign trail obviously - so harder to navigate. And I don't remember the date. Just remember having one of my parents sending it and tracking the development from there.

He has been making that 'argument' for a long time (over a year and a half?) but are we sure it hadn't started as exactly this erroneous equivocation? It seemed like it first came up in one of his ad lib segments of a presser and did seem like it was an error that later he kept doubling down on.

This comment in the context of Levy's "clown show" makes me picture a single clown doing a ridiculous, chaotic, offensive routine vs 270+ clowns doing a perfectly choreographed version of the very same.

CVS does offer delivery, usually through Shipt (&maybe other courriers). Putting the package in the lobby is smart, but one thing you might also consider is putting a post-it on your door that says eg "if you're looking for a delivery, I've taken it to the lobby" in case they check your unit #.

The information environment can be an upstream cause of some of the more immediate issues -- mostly around losing funding and jobs -- electorally. But I'd say the poor info environment stops the science from being applied moreso than stopping researchers themselves from doing science.

I'm actually not certain that the information environment is the problem for scientific advancement right now. I feel like it's still quite easy to find existing literature and sorting good from junk info has always been central to the job.

I suspect it's coming up way more now. If this is the case, it'd be nice to have some concrete evidence to point to.
