I think there is an interesting parallell to Star Wars: before mega-merchandising there was a lot of fan imagination going on. Playing with the story, expanding it, fan fiction et cetera. And an entry point for many to more interesting sci-fi and fantasy.

On another note, perhaps not optimal to base an analysis on these matters based on user reported data from a social media company with a strong vested intrest in the matters at hand?

Of course, but at the same time I think distance warps what is e.g. ”Indian” food. The most popular British Indian food dish does not exist in India. Eating ”Asian” food in Europe or the US has in my experience been quite different to eating in various countries in Asia.

Agree it seems a rather weird choice in the design of a cooking show segment, given the circumstances.
