A broken bird that flies a heart of burdoned love across a lake cries, "Forevers sake, if you ever need my life, it's yours to take." Until she realised that was her mistake.

I've been holding on to a lot of songs, lyrics and music, that I wrote a few years ago. The more I came to understand the music industry, the tighter my hold. I have things to share but there was something about the music industry was not quite right. Not on its own at least.

The birds are scattered silhouettes
That dance across her fading sigh
And the sky
Where desires dare
And a seagull cries

I hibernate a lot these days, but I'm starting to realise I always have in one way or another. My first few years in music were a challenge. I didn't know what I wanted to do but I seemed to be surrounded by people who knew exactly what I should be doing. I never did quite find my people.

I'm thinking about repurposing some lyrics into a piece of flash fiction. While the words are drenched in imagery and feel I'm wondering if I'll find a narrative arc that captures the essence of the feel.

I've just attended an online literary event that feels like it was curated to my circumstances with such an accuracy and intensity that I'm going to starfish face down on the grass in the back garden for half an hour before the FA Cup starts @frazzledlit.bsky.social #writing

... putting out fire with dragons breath...my thoughts are scattered now... overdosing on words...sometimes this is what my 'productive' feels like. It all counts. Hr 17. Now I switch to performance mode #24hourwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social @scrivenerapp.bsky.social #becevans

I only managed 15 minutes of writing this hour before needing to lie down. I have decided to be fine with this. I have a gig in a few hours. Performance energy is like gold. 15mins is👌. Hr 16.

This hour I journalled 1st - "This writing hour became the absolute best time to clean the gunk from in between the keys of my 20 year old keyboard." then managed 58 words of creative writing. Taking it. Hr 14. #24hourwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social @notrollergirl.bsky.social

Writing is a solitary activity, that's partly what I like about it, but I also like 600+ writers in the same zoom call. Back in the morning. Hour 5. #24hourwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social @scrivenerapp.bsky.social

I'm stunned by the amount some people are completing each hour. Hour 4 signed off. One more push before some sleep #24hourwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social

Hour 2 has passed by with intentions of poem prep but turned into a clearing session, notebooks everywhere, the procrastination is real #24hourwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social

That was a 755 word flourish of journalling, with some gig planning for tomorrow thrown in the middle. A productive hour 1 #24hourwritingsprint @londonwriterssalon.bsky.social @scrivenerapp.bsky.social @stevenpressfield.bsky.social 👍
