The gold standard of technical writing of me are the post mortem reports from Cloudflare. Or the C programming manual from K&R. They are masterful for communicating effectively and in great detail but also in a lean writing style.

You might ask: don’t you want to be a better professional writer? To me professional writing is like professional programming in python or Excel: the goal is to be effective and efficient.

Copilot for poor writers are like smartphones for poor photographers: it will take people from poor to fair and occasionally even good. It will not make them great or excellent. Imho.

IT professionals are often poor communicators for several reasons. Such tools are helpful. For example after I filled in the response it was too long, so I had copilot edit it down to a set number of words, then added necessary details. Overall I did it in half the time I expected plus it was better
