The new property tax rates are based on a reevaluation of the value of the land these businesses are located on. Higher tax bills are usually passed on by landlords to tenants, including clubs, beer gardens and other small businesses. Jockel beer garten in Kreuzberg’s tax bill has risen from €4,000 to €35,000 per year. Berghain now has to pay €90,000, up from €20,000 — while at riverside spot YAAM, the tax has risen by an unbelievable 1300% to €213,000. It’s hard to see how YAAM could afford that. Opposition Grüne and Linke politicians are demanding a reform of the tax to protect businesses. The CDU-SPD city government, on the other hand, says it will look into “whether and to what extent compensation can be achieved through targeted subsidies.” Destroy something with a new tax then create more paperwork to try to save that something — what could be more German?

working on a REALLY fun and cool game project right now as a sound designer/tech audio, and Godot is really killing it with out-of-the-box tooling imo

and if not for anything else, even the fact that I can play as an older woman in ARC is so great

and everything about it feels early Destiny (but better in several aspects)

whoever the composer is, I know you LOVED Returnal!

and so far community is the most helpful since D2 for me
