Don't you just love those online services where you go to update your payment information, you fill out the form with the new information, you submit it, there's no problem, and then it takes you back to your account home age where the payment info displayed is… still the old info before the […]

TFW your credit card gets renewed with a new expiry date and code, you go to Apple's Settings app to update the info, you do so, you tap on the “Done” button, you go back to edit and check and… the info has reverted back to the old stuff. You try again, and […]

As good a summary as any of the mess we’re in:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejPqAJ0dHwY

Putting Jon Ive in charge of software was SOOOO wrong.

That said, the blame for today’s situation rests squarely at the feet of Tim Cook. He has to go. But he won’t, because Wall Street loves him.

Well, if by “elevating”, you mean “putting higher”, the user content *is* indeed higher on the right-hand side.

To me, it looks like Apple saw the online reports by Jeff and Gruber, reproduced the issue, and then fixed the issue, but only for the exact configuration that Jeff and Gruber were using. They simply didn’t bother to check if things […]

I'm trying very hard to see what's “beautiful” and “delightful” about this, and I've got… absolutely nothing.

This is just plain ugly and clumsy. It's shameful. (And it's just as ugly and clumsy without “Increase contrast” and “Reduce transparency”, if not worse.)

I thoroughly despise "curiosity gap" headlines such as the ones used by @9to5Mac and @macrumors. If you cannot be bothered to at least give me an idea of what you are talking about, then sorry, I am not biting. I'll get my information elsewhere.

Well, silly me, I thought the point of having Apple Silicon was that we'd be able to run iOS apps in macOS.

I guess there's a […]

That’s how much today’s Apple cares about their users’ security.

And if you dare use the “Increase contrast” option under System Settings › Accessibility › Display in order to restore some level of sanity, Apple still punishes you by only changing the colours selectively. Best example is here with Finder labels. The […]

There is a password field down here, on the login screen. Yes, yes, I swear, it’s there. It’s a field. (Even at 2×, the field’s edge is BARELY visible.)

The fundamental question remains:

Why does Apple expect Mac users to turn on “Reduce Transparency” under System Settings › Accessibility in order to avoid THIS?

In what computing universe is THIS desirable?

Who out there is so in love with transparency that […]

AFAIIC, Apple is asking the single status light on the AirPod charging case to do way too much. Depending on when you look at it, it indicates the charging status 1) of one of your ear buds; 2) of the other one; or 3) of the case itself.

How can this be not […]

It seems obvious to me that the new AirTags still rely on the whole network of existing iPhones, regardless of which version of iOS those phones run. So why did they choose to require iOS 26 for actually using these new AirTags? Because they don't give a shit about their users, and they all have […]

Someone at Apple needs to ask themselves how users are supposed to deal with the fact that the secondary modal dialog makes no reference to the actual app being updated (VLC.app), has a generic padlock icon and uses the name of a process (“Autoupdate”) that […]

People have adopted iOS 26 and macOS 26 not because they like them, but because it takes ongoing effort to avoid/dismiss all the nagging from Apple about the need to upgrade.

I'd like to see a stat that identifies how many users *willingly* upgraded (and don't regret it). All I know is that I […]

I am afraid there is a bit too much SPOD in @MonaApp 7 for my liking.

Actions that used to be instantaneous (in Mona 6) now systematically take a couple of seconds (clicking on a post to view it separately, going back, etc.).

It's disappointing.
