These are not in fact the federal holidays for this year. This is such an easy thing to get right, and it means I won't trust Copilot results and it will make me dubious of anyone who implicitly does. 🤦‍♂️

This is…

A) …market-moving information. And, in fact, it appears there was action on Polymarket around the time of this post

B) …another attack on the (still reliable) work of the professionals at BLS.

C) …yet another example of him not believing the rules apply to him, and getting away w it
Kai, could you educate us with a few sentences why?

Can anyone make sense of Tesla's stock price? I've honestly not seen any news that isn't bad for them:
* Sales are down practically everywhere
* CA is saying they'll have to pause sales
* They have multi-year delays on model releases
* Cybertrucks are basically a meme

And yet ...

After today's congressional hearing with FCC commissioners, where one Dem Congress member debated with Chairman Carr how the FCC's website said the agency was "independent", that word no longer appears on the "about the FCC" page.

BLS data seems to indicate jobs are strugglin' over the last several months.

Maybe tariffing our trading partners and insulting our allies while dumping money into tech that replaces blue collar jobs and cancelling green tech grants that created jobs isn't such a smart economic plan... 🤔
December 16, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Apparently the administration wants to create the Tech Force, a team of tech engineers that can be deployed to agencies to help them solve challenging technology service problems.

Just forget that we already had the USDS (which they converted into DOGE) and 18F (which they dissolved in March). 🙄

My head cannon on this is every time a GOP lawmaker thinks they've come up with a "replacement for Obama Care", a staffer informs them they've actually just reinvented the Affordable Care Act under a different name.
House GOP leaders in a private meeting presented no firm plan for advancing health care legislation. Vulnerable members warned of political fallout.

Speaker Mike Johnson presented a list of concepts that did not include extending expiring Obamacare subsidies.

I've spoken to 5 friends who are career federal workers, most of whom were around for the last Trump shutdown, and none of them know when the current shutdown will end. One even thinks it'll last until at least Thanksgiving.

As a data expert and someone who has been following AI concerns for years, this is ONE OF THE BIGGEST concerns people have had, that a political party would fabricate video of an opponent. I get that he actually said the words, but the video obfuscates the context and this should scare everyone.
