I don’t believe we will retake power with the party we had. I don’t think it would do much good even if we did.

The threat of a primary challenge gives politicians a reason to learn new tricks, and we can replace the ones that don’t.

Of course, we shouldn’t be here in the first place. People shouldn’t have to do any this.

But now that we are, we can aspire to better than we had. I am running for Congress (bethfordemocracy.com) because I know that same creativity can build a better world.

What a great description!
Find passive-aggression annoying? So will fascist!
Their reaction makes them look totally out of line? Hey, truth in advertising!

Our best hope is the creativity of ordinary Americans.

I get asked often, “but what can a Representative actually *do*?”

We can:
1. Refuse to do what fascists tell us to
2. Make the lives of people doing bad things worse
3. Call every one of their bluffs

Until we regain power. Then we will prosecute the crimes & implement universal healthcare.

At the Masco town hall, an older veteran approached Rep. Moulton. He said, “we need you to be willing to be arrested before we are.”

Moulton didn’t reply at all. But it became a question I asked myself: “am I willing to go to jail to protect my neighbours from tyranny?”

That is the bar right now.

I just got a call from my rheumatologist. Because of the changes to Medicaid, which no longer reimburses telemedicine appointments, I can either pay out of pocket or drive two hours away every three months, which is not possible for me most of the year due to my work schedule.

Hiding the job numbers doesn’t give people jobs. Failing to release the Epstein files doesn’t mean fewer crimes were committed.

Refusing to govern doesn’t mean government is useless. It just means these people are incompetent.

I admire the courage and conviction of those who sailed with the Global Sumud Flotilla. Bringing food to hungry people is a kindness, not a crime.

Congress should not continue to arm a government maintaining an illegal blockade. Seth Moulton’s blank check policy has led to a humanitarian disaster.

I am horrified by the attack in Grand Blanc. No one should face violence for practicing their faith. My heart is with my LDS friends and neighbors today.
