Saw one of my absolute favourite bands this evening - Front Line Assembly. I'm talking iPod classic, songs on repeat to and from school, isolated and misunderstood because nobody knew who they were.
I somehow found the energy in me to do a rugby line out jump and snagged this drumstick! So happy!

Saw one of my absolute favourite bands this evening - Front Line Assembly. I'm talking iPod classic, songs on repeat to and from school, isolated and misunderstood because nobody knew who they were.
I somehow found the energy in me to do a rugby line out jump and snagged this drumstick! So happy!

Today I went for my first swim since October.
I swam 2175m like I'd never lost the ability. I could cry happy tears (for a change).
I'm now on top of the low enjoying a pint and a packet of crisps.

My mum made the bag out of old cushion covers... and the clothes.. well I dressed like that anyway. Nobody knew who I was 🙃 so of course I was ostracised and left to eat my jam butties out of my yellow Rosie and Jim lunchbox alone. The end.

"The big one!"
One of them spits on the floor.
Apparently this interaction activated my teacher voice like a sleeper agent. Gave directions & they recoiled into the most nice, appreciative boys much to my pal's amusement

Paddington has become a signifier of 'Britishness' for reasons that allude me. However it must be noted that the character was a hallmark of many people's childhoods, and within the British post-covid cultural zeitgeist, now also signifies nostalgia and comfort in loss.
Many images have been produced of him holding hands of those who have passed away, including Captain Tom (the old guy who walked laps in his garden to raise money for the NHS) and the late queen's husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Within internet meme culture, Paddington bear has been reimagined as the harbinger of death or the grim reaper, much to the amusement of (mostly) elder millennials and Gen X audiences who have slowly witnessed the increased usage of this format over the course of 6 years.

Bonus post: I logged into my work email to send across a sick note earlier in the week and this was in my inbox! One of my amazing students made this beautiful digital drawing and captured the essence of what I look like when I'm well and in work. Having this level of impact is spurring me on. 😭
