But how in good conscience can he complain about it (or take legal action), when the exact same system benefited him (enormously) in the past? Can't have it both ways. Publishing works the same way. Pubs buy their authors spots on the NYT bestsellers list. Been that way for decades.

Right? It's all kibble and no scolding.

Lansing's was my first Shackleton read as well. What an incredible book that was and is. Lansing new how to tell a story, and Shackleton new how to provide one!
