Filing FEC candidacy papers also allows you to start raising funds, which can be used in a myriad of ways. Since he’s doing rallies with AOC this filing isn’t that surprising to me. On the article you posted, he’s also quoted as saying this is probably his last term. www.fec.gov/help-candida...

Maybe, but we’re not even close to an election and this feels more about engaging the public in any way and showing that there are some people currently in congress who want to stand up and fight. If you want to call that nostalgia rather than good strategy then fine.

You’re trying to classify this as a just a yearning for the past rather than talking about how a politician who has spent DECADES pushing progressive policies is now using that goodwill and huge following to showcase a young progressive dem.

Orrrr, it’s that the DNC boxed him out in favor of a legacy centrist dem bc it was “her turn” & under-estimated how many people who swung right actually had similar concerns that Bernie brought up. So now, we’re all back out here to say “hey, see how many people still think *this* is a good idea?”
