I have thought many times that I should add up the number of hours I spend doing all of these bureaucratic administrative functions. My guess is that I probably spend one month out of every year. I would do it except for I’m too busy trying to cram my actual work into the remaining months.

Yeah, it does. On the upside there is a vaccine for chicken pox, which didn’t exist when I was a kid, so pretty much everyone had it. My kids got that vax as part of the recommended normal schedule, meaning they won’t ever have chickenpox and by extension, will never have shingles.

I have permanent nerve damage from having shingles that causes me chronic pain. Shingles sucked but this sucks way more. Get the vax!

Oh I have thoughts…Graduate programs at university’s like UC have to be “self supporting” which is basically a pay for degree scheme with any expectation of actual intellectual rigor already a joke. Add AI and the last expectation of any human critical thought is gone. All is for sale.

Tomorrow will be 2 months since my mom passed and I just realized my mind and body are doing this too. Grief is a trip. ❤️‍🩹
