Author __ Bible Teacher __ Jesus Follower __ Dog Lover __ People Liker __ I live in the woods outside Houston with my man of a jillion years and our bird dog Pecos. Honorary Auntie to anyone who wants one.
The one and only worthy Doc Holliday of the silver screen, Val Kilmer, has set down his cards. Man, what fun that actor gave us in his many movies and epic performances. He was our huckleberry. May his soul find rest in God.

Phil, you are so welcome to share the blooms nearer me. These are right on our acres, growing wild. Go ahead and consider them yours as well. Graces from God.

On my walk this morning. There is still sweetness in this world, you darlings. No one told these wildflowers this world is way too dark a place these fretful days to bloom.

Believe me, there are far more beautiful places but I can never get a decent picture of these woods with my phone. To have some acres left untamed this close to the city is a gift not wasted on us Moores. I wish I were walking some of you who could use these bird songs the most through these woods.

Flew back home yesterday from serving in Honolulu. Had the best time, met the most wonderful people & saw the most gorgeous mountains & trees. But I couldn’t wait to get back and check on the deer, see my critters, feed the fish, run my bird dog and, in less than 2 minutes, hear all these beauties.

You animal lovers, I hate to be so shameless — well, I don’t hate it all that much — but have you ever seen a more beautiful dog? Now if pretty is as pretty does, Pecos needs to go back to pretty school. But if we’re just into looks, is what I’m saying.

Tomorrow’s Ash Wednesday. So today? Well, today’s pancakes. And I make a vicious pancake.

Still at it

I wanted Pecos and I to be close but I didn’t picture having to wear her like a hat.

40 years I’ve put into ministry in the evangelical world. 40 years. They obviously mean nothing. That I was not chosen for this is a wound that may never heal. And just look. They could’ve pictured me not only with my hair but with my Head. PS. That darling Keith Moore. I married him for his looks.

That truth sunk into me some years ago when I was doing a careful reading of Psalm 119.

V.94 “Save me for I am yours.”

A dreamy picture of snow on the roof.

This is my marriage in a nutshell. Lol. He can make fun if he wants. THAT IS REAL SNOW!!!!

Pecos driving. Just took this dumb picture and I’m bent over laughing. One of the secrets to a happy life is to have the sense of humor of a nine year old. Lol

Keith and our 1 year old Pecos just got home from hunting and he told me something I can’t quit picturing and laughing about. He said she points beautifully but, problem is, she’s got so much energy & speed, she can’t stop running so she leaps and does a perfect point… midair …lands & keeps running.

If the Houston area is convenient for you, it’s the time of year we at LPM devote to in-town Bible study! We love it so much! Starts Jan 16. Focusing on digging out from under all that’s false or counterfeit about us and living out of what’s real: the individual God created us to be. Come join us!

Y’all, my son-in-law Curtis ordered this for me for Christmas and had it shipped and it got snagged en route and just made it to my house. Isn’t this the best mother-in-law gift ever?? He’s so much fun.

I am READY, Sabrina!!!!!

Thinking about those of you who are sad tonight, having so hoped God would bring something specific to pass in 2024 & the days have turned to hours. I don’t know why things are timed the way they are but what I know for certain is that it’s not because he doesn’t love you or care. Don’t you give up.

Said I do to this dude right here 46 years ago today. We agreed no matter what the minister said, we were only taking out a 50 year lease with an option to renew because Keith couldn’t imagine being married the rest of his life. Within a month
neither could I. Lol. But here we are! Thank you, Jesus.

I think this devotional might be a really good place to start! I’d also recommend “daily light” for someone wanting to get a feel for daily scripture reading. These together would take only about 10 minutes. For a book of the Bible, I’d also consider starting with one chapter of Luke every day.

Y’all!!!!!! A most special bird indeed! I am repentant and so delighted I could do a hundred miles of cartwheels. Thank you, Lord. This was a marvelous gift! (If none of this makes sense, see previous post. It’s very possible it will still not make sense. Lol)
