And just in from Seymour.
This is the intent. Forget whatever flowery words Erica uses. They want your child growing up in a NZ that is blind to its history. That’s not learning, it’s indoctrination.

Ok. The cap is on.

Wore this all day and now I have to wear it every day for the next week or so I guess.

Erica’s accusations of union bullying seem to be based on not much more than a text agreeing with her.

But that text had five “o”s in it, so I guess case closed.

Says the biggest bully in the education system.

Also interesting that just over a year ago Elizabeth Rata was feeding Seymour talking points about this very thing.

Reading this, and a recurring motif seems to be the huge number of missed opportunities to punch back taught Putin what he could do.

What does Erica know about education? What Michael says.

This is what ideological capture looks like: a minister getting her ideas not from the ministry, but from a think tank employee.

😂
They keep telling me this in their OIA response letters, but why does every batch of OIA docs I get about the MAG tell a different story?
Why is this official story so important to them?

Yep.

Look at the out of scope coordination going on here.

So much for statutory limits eh.

The MAG was a facade, providing legal cover for the execution of a plan.

This is how democracy dies.

A quote from his talk …

The nurturing of these dispositions is essential in the age of AI. If an education system fails to do so, it is a system of intentional neglect.

Off work this week, recovering. Missing the classroom.
Drew this for my Year 13s about Pan’s Labyrinth as part of a prompt for their own explorations of the film. Trying to ‘reach through the reliever’ and help them be curious, imaginative, thoughtful.
Felt good to put pen to paper.

I’ve been playing around with ‘lesson letters’, like this. Much more fun to create than ppt!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?

In the dispositions cards, we say that mental playfulness is the key to imagination. It is the inclination and ability to play with ideas in your head, which helps you formulate and explore new ideas in the test-bed of your own mind.

I read The Every last year and thought it excellent. So time to dive into The Circle.

I know I’m reading these the wrong way around! I’m curious about how my mind will make connections between them because of that.

Who else has read them? Thoughts?

I know I shouldn’t be surprised by this email, but every time I read it I want to shake my fists.

Here’s the education MAG clearly in curriculum writing mode by 19 January 2024.

This latest tranche of emails are leading to so many questions as I work on a part 2 to the first report about the MAG
