Alfie Jones. Given the Hull comments I thought squad player and was unsure, but he’s suited every formation and style. Others like Britain and Browne I expected to be good and they haven’t disappointed at all, butJones has exceeded expectations.

Wow?!? It’s certainly ‘front foot’.

That miss has taken the oomf out of us. And Rodoni coming on. But is it Della-time?
November 25, 2025 at 9:25 PM
They just don’t miss. Simms couldn’t hit a barn door last season, how often do you hit a cross perfect on the volley.

Gonna be some come back this.

Are the problems up front summed up by the only 2 Boro defenders on the pitch, having played 96 minutes, combining to score and save a point.

It felt against Stoke refs had mind their mind up Conway dives and he’s getting nowt. Tonight was so ridiculous I’m just laughing. If we were 1 down in the 80th minute…. well, it would be no laughing matter.

If this gives him confidence, Whittaker’s “ like a new signing” 😉

The champ refs are getting no better. He gave us some I couldn’t believe too.

It does seem refs have decided Conway dives, is that 3 now this season? And maybe he does go down “easily” - he needs to lose that reputation somehow - thought he might get a second yellow today with frustration.

Edmondson, Jones and Ayling feel like the back 3 that if it’s going to go wrong….. 🤞 c’mon Boro.

Bikey

Agree, they really underline and highlight what we don’t do. They are greater than the sum of their parts, pragmatic, flexible, take chances, ride their luck. How many of their squad would we have taken at the start of the season, genuinely, without hindsight.

Ah well, next year we go again.

I get it. I am torn. Just would like to see a bit more churn and less exclusivity - and I’d rather it wasn’t them.
May 24, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Yes it would have been a v different week.

Weirdly I’d rather Sunderland win. We need to break the same teams going up and down, and the idea of Wilder failing will do me. We need to sort ourselves out and sod what the nearby rivals are doing.

Carrick sliding doors moment, losing 4-2 at Huddersfield as we were chasing down Sheffield Utd and auto promotion in 2023. He got Warnock’d and has never recovered. Consistently outsmarted by numerous managers, Robins that season and various since.

Discuss.

Stop it! Stop making me think it’s even a possibility.

I can’t face the two down after 20 minutes, or the late goal at Blackburn. So, I’m going for a walk without my phone till 2pm Saturday. (And I’ll use the same superstition plan for the play offs too)

But would it be gutting, to see such a change, resulting in a comfortable win, and we finish 7th. All the missed chances would haunt me for the summer.

I’d kind of rather the season quietly goes away now.
April 28, 2025 at 8:05 PM
It’s not all bad, Josh Coburn could make the play offs - does that count?
April 27, 2025 at 6:20 AM
I’m not watching next weekend.

When are the fixtures out?
New kit launch?
New manager?

And we can still finish 6th. FFS.

(We won’t)

Tend to agree. The comedy goals we concede and points we throw away under Carrick was only (just) justifiable in his first season. You have to laugh last season and this or you’ll cry.
