This year seems to be a good year for the frogs in good old germany. There are more in most of the habitats and they are strong with big bellies. Maybe it was the last two years, which were not that hot as the years before, that came to their fortune.
The common frogs are rather silent when mating.

The Common frog (Rana temporaria) in german called ‚Grassfrog‘ is mating in the cold water between ~ 0 and 10°C.
Once they were counted in huge numbers on the way to the spawning waters. They declined massivly over the last ten years on some locations eg from 800 to 30. 🐸

Am I the only one who thinks the fireworks are getting worse every year? There are less people participating in that crazy game but the stalin organs are getting more, bigger & louder.
The air, full of toxins and dust is hardly breathable. People & animals suffer. 🐸

European treefrog drinking water. I admit I faked the clip with a spray bottle, but I often saw them catching water drops when it began to rain. Did anyone else see treefrogs or other frogs drink water? 🐸

Did you know that frogs change their skin from time to time like snakes? It looks as if they are in trouble when they try to get rid of their old skin and finally swallow it. But Everything is Ok with them !

Die Regionalplanung für Windenergieanlagen im Kreis Göppingen! Für den NABU ein heißes Eisen! Wird der Natur- und Vogelschutz ausreichend berücksichtigt? Die einmalige Landschaft am Albtrauf bietet viel Wind aber auch wichtige Biotope und (Nah-) Erholungsgebiete. Hier ringen wir um gute Kompromisse.
