I was able to start a business by selling a modestly popular indie game with the support of the indie dev community, lose a bunch of money doing that, get a corporate job in the gaming industry and then lose my job in the industry from mass layoffs. Twitter made me bitter.

I don’t mind seeing MyHouse get all this attention. It’s a masterpiece and it deserves the spotlight for how brilliant it is. This is just me being annoyed Muta for being dumb and wrong loudly, lol. He could at least be dumb and wrong in a way that makes me money.

Ok, why does Star Trek: Discovery get so much hate? Honestly, it’s like really really good, bordering on great at times. This is why you should never listen to fans about anything — they’re bratty children who can never be happy with anything. I like it more than Strange New Worlds by a long shot.

Oh trust me, it’s infuriating. It’s the most exposure my game has ever had , that video did numbers, and nobody knows about my game. He coulda at least mentioned it. But, he also made a shitty video defending some racist takes using my game as B-Roll, so meh, I don’t want that association

Drama YouTuber SomeOrdinaryGamers used my game as B-Roll while covering MyHouse on his channel, without mentioning my game once, leading a whole bunch of GenZ kids to think my game is part of this mod lol.

In any other industry, this amount of closures and mass layoffs would paint a picture of a dire situation, an industry on the brink of collapse — not an industry reporting record earnings. It’s a long shot, but, I hope that this gives me a path to something new and better.

Today, I made a case to my state that my skills as a game artist are neither an in-demand nor marketable, in hopes of qualifying for a grant to participate in a workforce reentry program. I cited industry layoffs, studio closures and reports from AI companies about workforce automation. #gamedev
