No I think he is doing a great job with what he has available. Without actually arresting federal agents. I just can’t stand the kvetching about democrats. Move on, get over it.
bfeincole.bsky.social
Get over it. It is what it is.

Oddly two of the congressmen who I have not cared for in the past seem to keep punching against the power, with Paul and Massie. Showing some integrity.

@support.bsky.team I am finding my Bluesky video playback is stopping half way or so through on my iPhone. Any ideas?

This is all true, and businesses are having issues with the planning around their haphazardness. And farmers have lost markets. But, but in a very Seinfeld Bizarro World way, for 25 years we have run large deficits, with republicans unwilling to raise taxes. Just saying…

If they take two sombreros and call their congressperson in the morning will that help? Perhaps a few more stories of rising premium invoices will change the dynamics of the shutdown.

They shoot and then they think 🤔.

I look forward to hearing it.

Why wait 10 days? Either negotiate now or don’t. Trump had a chance to negotiate last week but had a fit.

I think one thing to keep in mind about both of those policies is the JCPOA was in 2015. Cuba was 2015. Both were in his 2nd term, when he wouldn’t have to face the voters again. Now issues on the ground may have dictated that more, but should not go unnoticed. Biden didn’t have that opportunity

So why not a quota rather then an open ended annual number? Say our system can handle 500k a year and process them quickly. I am for some asylum, but it clearly was being abused and overwhelmed the system. The right rather run on it, then solve it. And they got complete control of the USA vehicle

440k in 2016 to 3.2 million in 2024.

This I found is dated, but 20 to 30% were found to be valid. That means the other 70% are denied. Yet they have a “right” to apply and maybe work. System is broken.

Our asylum laws were being abused. This the system was being overwhelmed with applicants.
bfeincole.bsky.social
Can get work permits. Correct.

I am not sure I understand your point. It sounds like you want a broken system, whereby regardless of the support structure, its somewhat open for anyone that shows up, claims asylum, gets entry, can start working with permit, and then if rejected, expelled.
bfeincole.bsky.social
A right to enter. I am not sure it is a right. We have immigration policies, they can be used and abused. Curb the abuses and support the proper use.

But yes, quicker resolutions to the cases is preferred. What is the opposite, longer waits? Come on.

By the way being in the country allowed to work, while you wait for a hearing, whose outcome might be you are turned away, is a problem. If you don’t have some legal status to work here you should not be allowed. That is getting around the temporary work visa programs.
bfeincole.bsky.social
Also what is not here was there was too much abuse of the system with asylum seeking process.
