I like voluntary filtering. More tools = better :3

I guess I was just ranting about age verif nonsense. I recently "left twitter forever" again due to not being able to verify my alt, which follows all the art accounts. Main's verified cause I've had it since forever. I do have a VPN but I'm lazy.

Speaking of boobies and teens googling things they shouldn't :3

When I was a teen dad locked my computer with a BIOS password. Took me like 3 days, a few sessions at the local internet cafe and a floppy disk to crack it and generate myself a working pass.

Teens have all the time and motivation in the world to get around age gating tools just to google a booby. You can't compete with that. It's an arms race with no end in sight. If you ban everything, teens will create their own layer of the www.

The way e621 does it wastes the least amount of CPU.

I'm pro tags.

And BSKY could implement a system globally where certain keywords trigger an AI review and maybe apply a tag.

Or per account. I mean if many people want to filter out a particularly traumatizing concept, the platform would automatically accommodate with least wasted compute.

Btw these two replies did not show up in my inbox for some reason. BSKY still has some bugs or you clicked something wrong.

There's a few quirky features for sure.

Also, I actually kinda do agree with your overall sentiment, people SHOULD suggest features and open tickets, that's how open source software gets better.
January 11, 2026 at 11:39 PM
I agree. Things can be designed better.

I mean, I'm the kind of guy who grew up with the early '00s wild west internet. Zero guardrails, zero online safety. I feel a lot of it boils down to idiot parents thinking Silicon Valley can do parenting on their behalf. The internet is not a safe place.
January 11, 2026 at 11:37 PM
True. People do that. Don't use the feature and whine when it bites them in the butt.

I get it. A really bad picture (bad irl things) can ruin my day/week and set me spiraling into anxiety and dark thoughts.

But normies prob don't even know what half these buttons do and are too lazy to learn.
January 11, 2026 at 11:33 PM
I mean I get it, there's select stuff I don't wanna see super badly and having a good tagging and blacklisting system would lend well to browsing furry but might be outside the scope of a normie social media platform.

The only reason they even have a NSFW filter is probably compliance with the law.

I expressed disapproval on twitter and opened a support ticket. They did backpedal on the whole data selling scandal so regardless if it was our misunderstanding or they thought they could get away with it, the pressure worked.
January 7, 2026 at 5:04 PM
I know, I did consider it :3

I decided I'd rather pressure the Mozilla Foundation to get their shit together than just hop on a fork and call it a day. They are still doing good work. When they implement a new security feature, the other browsers are forced to take note.
January 7, 2026 at 4:44 PM
I'm security minded but I'm also very lazy. I only have Ublock Origin on, takes care of most annoyances and tracking scripts. I used to have NoScript but eventually it turned out to me more trouble than it's worth.

I suppose if I really need to hide my tracks I still have Tor ;3
January 7, 2026 at 4:36 PM
That's the one that worked? Yeah might be some security feature gone wrong then.

I never switched to Librewolf cause I think the FireFox scandals are a bit overblown. They're still not selling your user data and they're still the only browser not controlled by a multinational tech conglomerate...
January 7, 2026 at 4:30 PM
Damn, didn't think of that. Glad you solved it!

Btw which specific versions worked and didn't work?
I'm on FireFox 141.0 (64-bit) Portable

If it's smaller than 500kb (for logged out users, logged in users can do 5mb) you can try uploading it to Perchance (I somehow ended up running an AI art gen there and this page is for sharing files in chat) perchance.org/upload and I'll tell you what's wrong with it.

Convert the image to a different format, the file you're trying to use is perhaps badly formatted (ex. .webp file with a .jpg extension, non-standard or damaged jpg/png header etc.)

telling an introvert that you are going to enforce collectivism IS A THREAT, this isn't a left-right issue, this is a personality type issue

get that garbage away from me

Trinitron CRTs are where it's really at :3

I only got 1, sadly (Japanese mid 90s graphics station monitor). The quality legit matches high end LCDs from 10 years later almost.
