Found my copy of Knarr that was missing for over a year! I don't need to own this though as my friend has it, but it is a good "gateway" game to bring it out if an opportunity arises.

It’s exciting to work on the Top 100 Board Games (as of 2025). What in my own rankings would surprise me? What may surprise others? How has the ranking changed over the years? What’s moved up or down? All exciting to figure out. Without Pub Meeple, this task would feel impossible.

I had to sadly say bye to my copy of Valheim. I had so much hope for this one as I enjoy the video game. It is fun, and I’ll happily play if picked, but it fell into the category of I wouldn’t pick it. My friend owns it, so we will still be playing it. It might grow on me. Solid 7/10.

My love-hate relationship with Xia continues. Random as all hell, and the only thing that keeps me playing it when picked is the theme. It is cool flying around in space and how each tile does something different. My first win finally!

Visual - Stunning as usual

Story? Meh

Overall - 6/10, story dragging it down

With the amazing world he has created, just wish equal efforts was put into a better story.

Top 10 New-to-me of 2025

Agricola vs. Caverna - I am now firmly in the camp of Agricola. I still enjoy Caverna and its more sandboxy nature, but love the card play and tightness of Agricola a lot more. Why, oh why, can I not bake bread anytime I want like we can cook anytime if we have a fireplace?!

My friend said he's interested to play Pandemic Legacy. Now I'm wondering which season is best to start with. Maybe Season 1 is best to start with anyway. We won't get to this in 2026, but will be possible to get to it in 2027. Plenty of time to decide which season to start with!

While rearranging games recently, I inadvertently discovered I have become a Ticket to Ride collector (sort of, don’t have all of it). Fortunately, I am happy my friend likes it enough that he’ll play it (not pick it). Without that, all of this (and future buys) would be wasted money.

My friend: Would you get rid of a couple of the least liked Lacerda games after we play all the titles next year?

Me: 😱 😱

Being a completionist is a danger in this hobby.

Fortunately my completionist urge is selective. So far, Lacerda games are part of it. We shall see if it lasts.

I’ve been wanting to play all 10 (maybe 11?) Lacerda games in one given year to compare and contrast. After discussion, my group has agreed to play them all next year! My friend has agreed to split up the titles to pick so that it isn’t on one person to pick everything. Ready for 2026!
