I hadn't read these, thanks for the rec. The ebook of the first volume (which I'm really enjoying) has quite a lot of typos! Grateful for the rerelease but if I was the author I would not be thrilled about that.

I completely forgive the dad rock metamorphosis of any musician. There are no pensions or 401ks for cool bands (or any artists). As long as there's a line at the merch table they should keep ringing that cash register. I hope they keep going long enough to be milking it when they have grandchildren.

Is there any reason to believe that the unredacted evidence and transcripts have made it out of government hands and just haven't been publically released? I can see why, for example, a journalist would move slowly to release such a thing, to protect themselves and victims.

My fantasy scenario is that his inner circle has given up on him and they are TELLING him that the files have been scrubbed so he should encourage their release. But they haven't been scrubbed. He isn't going to check!

The famous Minard map of this campaign tells such a heartbreaking story in just the width of the line showing how many of Napoleon's soldiers were still alive as it progressed.

🗽 down a head coach and at least 2 assistants 😬

I worry that Art 1 Sec 10 might be interpreted to restrict the kinds of agreements that are possible between states, even stuff like the "National Popular Vote" compacts for how to award electoral votes

I think "Horsted" might be more appropriate in this case

Sounds like the Mirror of Erised to me

"Concussion protocol" like Izzy Harrison's multi-week benching is bad enough, but you can hit your head on any fall and they fall all the time. I really hate to see Natasha Cloud out for a broken nose that was, as you say, a "swim move" or loose elbow that should not have happened.

Her post-game interview was so gracious and still made it clear that she was PSYCHED to be back on the court

I'm completely pro-vaccine BTW, I am just empathetic with parents of young children who have been through birth experiences that showed them doctors are not always trustworthy and don't always have their interests at heart.
August 28, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Families with small kids have often just experienced childbirth. They come right out of a bad experience of doctors who lie to the patient to make them compliant with the induction-to-csection railroad. Then the pediatrician enters with "I'm a doctor, trust me!"... it's no surprise they don't.

That would be a good starting 5! Hope they aren't all on the bench.

She had no incentive to tell the truth and every incentive to lie. She was rewarded for her "testimony" even though no legitimate ends of the Justice Department were furthered -- no prosecutions were helped. What even was the fig leaf explaining why she got nicer accommodations?

Bummer about Sab (saw this happen and thought it might be an injury) but I love your Liberty updates.

Hope she gets some minutes tonight!

I used to think that STOP or Unsubscribe were somehow diminishing my support for politicians I agree with. Not any more. I go totally Marie Kondo on political texts and emails. Especially ones that got my deets from brokers and lists-of-lists.

Too bad she can't suit up tonight. I am dreading this Lynx game with Stewie, Kennedy, and Sabally all out 🫣

It's a trend throughout the W this season: leaning in to highlight-worthy, sometimes breathtaking, assists. I love to see it. This has always been what makes Caitlyn Clark's game so exciting to watch. I think lots of players have been watching CC tapes.

Liberty is my team, but let's be real -- they are known to choke in the second half. Last nights game was great to watch. They didn't find their groove in first half, entered choking territory -- then rallied behind Sabrina, who is the chokingest choker of all. Great drama! Liberty bibberty!

The C is my main line and it's not that bad if you make heavy use of mta.info to keep informed about when the next train is. I wish the A hit the 3 Ft Greene/Clinton Hill stops tho. My wife actually wrote MTA about it and they replied (!) that there are technical reasons preventing that.

There are 3 main types of Threads posts that I know of: ragebait, jokes copied from somewhere else without attribution, and Penthouse Forum style fables of "my coolest story". yeah cool story bro.

Was it just me or was the Amazon Prime telecast terrible? Jerky video, constant, loooong commercial breaks that blanked big pieces of the game, no pause or rewind??
