Brighton & Hove Green Party are shocked and horrified by last night’s racist attack on the Peace Community Centre & Mosque in Peacehaven:

We must be clear in standing against hate, and clear in answering this hate with unwavering solidarity. An attack on one community is an attack on us all. The Green Party stands with victims in the local community, and those who will be deeply affected by this across the country.

We continue to see mainstream politicians and the media drive hatred and division against the Muslim community. This must end. We must callout all forms of hate: anti-semitism, Islamophobia, and racism as a whole. We stand alongside those affected, and in these dark times we must remember to speak up and defend our friends and neighbours, regardless of their background or religion.
