Tape out now.

Crackle. Organ hum. Rough beats & dub daze.
The bass blown-out and up front.
Everything echoes or covered in fuzz.
Nothing is clear.

One fragment of cut-up text remains... "artists bury night, wreck ears"

I read your excellent list, nodded, and then thought, "no billy woods?"
👍

I think I saw that tour, round about 2012-13? Glasgow Stereo, I think it was - loved it

Moki Karlsson Cherry and Neneh Cherry in their home in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, late 1960s.

Will watch this later 👇. I watched the documentary on the refurbishment of The Angel underground station on the iPlayer and it was amazing how ancient 1980s britain can seem

Imagine a 1970s Alan Partridge on a mind bending trip through long lost London, so breakneck & fragmentary, full of incredible characters & handbrake turns that it feels like a dream where the cast & context keeps mutating & it still won’t be as wild as the actuality of this

Did that B&S fella also DJ up Strathclyde Uni in the late 80s? or someone who looked just like him...

I think this is where EL-P lost me a bit; too much happening, too ornate, which is logically where his early 00s style was always heading i suppose...

When he can back with 'Drones Over Brklyn' later I was very happy - hes a producer thats had a lot of influence on me

Sorry, I just loved the Pixies so much I was willing to infect a large amount of goths & students in the Glasgow area.

I never went to the SECC gig, but I remember people talking about it afterwards
bhtransmissions.bsky.social
Was that not at the SEC? I think I saw them at the QM the year before, then in London in 91. Saw them a lot round then...
bhtransmissions.bsky.social
35 years ago... wow

I dont remember anything about this gig, but I had measles when I went to it, so apologies if you ended up sick after...
A concert ticket from 8th October 1990, text read 'The Pixies plus guests, at the Barrowlands, Gallowgate Glasgow - £7.50 in advance

I'll be sure to reference it in my health & safety lecture tomorrow! 😀

Where would someone even see old films now?

I'll admit I nicked a few Redford ones after he died recently
bhtransmissions.bsky.social

OTD a few years ago, armed with a bobble hat and microphone, I was exploring Skara Brae, The Ring of Brodgar, numerous chamber cairns and other exceptionally exciting #Neolithic sites on Orkney

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Agony (70s) - London metropolitan 70s liberal elite under the lens in this right-on sitcom with Maureen Lipman enjoyable as an agony aunt. I think I found this unfathomable at the time, but I quite enjoyed it from the 21st century. Well woke.

Has the same weird stage-y vibe all uk sitcoms had then
bhtransmissions.bsky.social
Sapphire & Steel (80s) - strange & grim, but quite interesting sci-fi with David McCallum/Joanna Lumley as the titular what exactly? time detectives? aliens?

I might watch more - I kinda remember it from the 80s but not much
bhtransmissions.bsky.social
ITVX (in the UK only I assume) they have a thing where you can visit TV from each decade from the 50s on - I had a quick dip in...

Bless This House (60s) - almost unwatchable Sid James 'sitcom' where every incident cuts to Sid where he does his face and everyone laughs

also everyone shouts
