Just as I would want someone to have for me, communication is about information. I would have no expectation, and very likely *nothing* he might say would change my mind, but I would have information about his thinking and behavior. I don't respect sneaky.

This seems sus, but if it's legit I would write something to him and stand there while he reads it, refusing to be gaslit. I'd have my bags already packed, ready to leave if he's anything but abjectly horrified at being discovered and willing to accept separation & individual therapy for both of us.
