Every time I see someone Tweet that the Bible is 100% historically accurate, I think, "why would you embarrass yourself like this?".
Finding the truth is not the goal of the Christian apologist.

Whether you are Godly or not, you can appreciate the God squad's superb buildings.

I took this pic of York Minster earlier this year.

York is amazing, well worth the visit and I will certainly go there again.

The York Museum and the Railway Museum (free) are also hugely impressive.

In 1962, the Jewish Publication Society of America corrected a translation error in the LXX. The LXX mistranslated Sea of Reeds (yam suph) as the Red Sea, English translations based on the LXX are incorrect.

The Red Sea has no reeds.

The location of the sea crossing is still unknown.

Exodus 12:37b

"There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children."

John Bright: "The reader can figure that two and a half million people marching in an old-fashioned column of fours would extend some 350 miles!”

From Egypt, 350 miles gets you to Canaan and back.

Josh. 7:6 Joshua is distressed, the men he sent to conquer Ai were defeated.

He was right to be distressed because archaeology has shown Ai was unoccupied 2400-1200 BCE (Marquet-Krause), was never fortified after 2400, and abandoned c. 1050 (Callaway).

Another biblical event that never happened.

My favourite wee church is Abercorn Parish Church, close to Sth Queensferry. The church entrance doorway is c. 1100s and is built on the site of an even older church c. 7thc.

There's a tiny museum, you can go in free of charge and leave a donation if you want to.

If psychic mediums and Tarot Card readers have to display a disclaimer, then why don't churches?

The scam is essentially the same. 🤔

Unlike the fictional Exodus found in the Bible, the exodus from Twitter is very real.

After decades of studying the Bible, I have concluded that only 12.5% is accurate.

This is why I am an eighthiest. 🤔

I found my way here at last. 👍

Enjoy the Bible for what it is, a collection of ancient myths and legends with a few first-century conspiracy theories thrown in.
