Looks like you're in a fab part of France (of which there are many). Wish was there too, though a red rose at heart.

Its main sugar is a v unusual disaccharide, melibiose, which few microbes can metabolise.

That's whisky not whiskey...
Prefer smoother malts like Macallan, though gently peaty Bunnahabhain (also from Islay) is ab fab.

Think OED "allows" both irresponsive and unresponsive. The latter is probably more easily heard over flakey radio transmissions.

Assorted malts even better, according to your taste.

They are. Esp. Chivas.

No no no, that would be unsubtle. Oops..

Even if that happened, Europe won't capitulate; eastern and part of northern Europe know how intolerable life under the Russian boot would be.

Where's that - part of the South Downs?

I continued the focus set at the start of the thread; made no mention of India, unlike you. China's coal plant shutdown 8yrs ago is minimal alongside further openings and vast continued usage. They are miles from a clean power exemplar.
Your lack of comprehension speaks volumes of you.

What were we thinking, letting him study law in London (UCL)?!

I'm confident it's not "just economics" anywhere, given the importance of energy and its cost politically..
We're all pretty propagandised, at least there's scope in the West to be able to recognise it.

Ah, those beaches on Elba...
January 13, 2026 at 10:08 AM
Suspending, but hopefully closed, though replaced with gas, so cleaner not clean.
Heard of it being reqd before and during the Olympics in '08; I was there briefly in 2006 when the Bird's Nest was being built. The heat and air pollution was horrendous.
January 13, 2026 at 10:07 AM
Will be interesting to see if so in the non-free market economy of China.
January 13, 2026 at 9:49 AM
Maybe. Waiting to hear of actual mothballed plants after 50+ years of huge growth and pollution, esp given the coal reserves they have.
