The only thing I honestly expect from this is a 50% rate hike for every netflix tier as soon as this is made official.

In regards to your framing of this as consumer-unfriendly: The hurting consumers is a feature, not a bug. Lack of oversight, regulation or enforcement means we are way beyond large corporations not trying to maximize profits at consumers' expense; it is expected.
