I said “that’s only good news for you!”

It really happened because my co-worker was a genuinely nice person who did all he could to live his values. I really liked him.

He told me they talk about it, and were now “personally challenged” by what I gad said about being pro-life, and were going to start stepping up to really be who they thought they already were.
To date it was the best and healthiest convo I’ve had with someone anti choice.

The next day he let me know that he had gone home & told his wife what I had said (which included “anyone claims to be prolife, should be supporting women before & after giving birth!” With $, health care, education, childcare being a partial list, also anti war, anti death penalty&pro gun control)

I once caused a police investigation of an anti choice blockade of a local clinic that provided abortions.
Also I came to work still furious about what had happened and told everyone there what happened and how mad I was…including a very Catholic, anti-choice co-worker.

People have been given no real info about Covid (and the fact that it is still here, and Long Covid ruins lives) by public health, so even people who don’t suck are doing really dumb things.

It is SO easy for men not to see that they are benefiting from male privilege, because they have always had it, so don’t notice it.
Just like, even though I know white privilege is a thing, I still don’t recognize how much of it I benefit from, because I’ve always had it.

But hearing me rant about how men give him twice the space they give me (he is not twice the size of me! We require the same width for passage) he understands that space is a privilege that men are raised to assume is theirs, & women are expected to get smaller to avoid inconveniencing men.
