Saying anything will spoil this game. It's kinda already been spoiled by youtubers in the itchio comments section, so if you play it please don't look at anything but the initial itch page and ignore everything else.

It sucks this game had a rocky launch, and while it definitely went in a more sci-fi direction as opposed to horror, I still very much enjoyed it! Hopefully it gets re-added to steam soon.

Without getting too personal, this game kind of captured how I have been the past few months since august. I very much relate to the game and while it's definitley not for everyone, I really liked it.

An incredible puzzle game that takes place inside a command line. Incredibly gripping story, especially if you've played mike klubnika's previous works.

I never thought I'd ever actually be excited to keep playing a text adventure but here we are. This is an incredible game and one of the best written horror games I've played in a while. It's free, too, so definitley check it out. Zeekerss cooked...

As a David Szymanski fan, this felt like something very special. Butcher's Creek is Szymanski's final unity game and something in the works for a while. It was awesome seeing what David had in store this time. Satisfying combat and scares... Also turkey door.

I originally bought this game as a joke because I thought it would suck. It was incorrectly tagged as "horror" and similar, so I thought it would be a crappy bait-and-switch horror game, but instead I was met with what can only be described as "Peak".

This is a game that's super inspiring to me, it's such a surreal and interesting world with so much packed into it, so much talent in this hour or so of gameplay that is unforgettable. Also it's free.

Gameplay-wise, this is my favourite game this year. Such a gruelling but rewarding game. I can't wait for the updates to come, this is one of the best rougelikes I've ever played.

This is what a cozy game should be, imo. Not just farming or a town with NPCs, it's a rich atmospheric world that relaxes you and makes you want to be there. It's an escape to do something easy and repetitive with some twists and turns, too. Also great OST.

For first place, my favourite game of 2025 was Shooty Shooty Robot Invasion! Underrated as hell, this game needs the flowers it deserves. The intro is a bit slow but it's on its feet and moving once level 2 rolls around. Please give this a try.

Mindwave & 500 Caliber Contractz
These are just demos, but I am beyond excited for these games, They're so unique and addictive even if they both only feature one level.

Honourable Mention 1: DELTARUNE
I would really count Deltarune as #1, but I don't think it's fair as it's just an episodic release and didn't actually start this year, but just know, if it counted, it would be my favourite.
