It’s something that irritates me greatly as an Australian the amount of high barbed wire fences we use for livestock compared with Europe. I’ve been treating a manged wombat on farmland near where I live and getting over, under or around barbed wire fences is a real battle for me and wildlife.

I was a retail pharmacist for many years and the number of DVA veterans with a Repat card steadily reduced over the years. Some would even have “POW” printed on them and I always made a point of having a chat to these legends about their experience.

Also Georgie Purcell of the @animaljusticeparty.bsky.social has been working hard in the Victorian Parliament to get greyhound racing banned in Vic and to at least hold them accountable

I would love to see it banned along with jumps racing. Put horse racing on notice too that the “sport of kings” is cruel and out of favour and will be wound down over a decade
