Of course, safety nets programs are almost always going to be needed. I was thinking about how these programs currently subsidize Wal Mart’s (shit) wages and necessitate folks holding multiple jobs. I do believe SNAP/WIC would be less strained/utilized if Wal Mart paid living wages.

Work-life balance is always realistic in a society that mandates a living wage and works to negate the need for programs like SNAP and WIC. Poverty wage employers like Wal-Mart are the biggest enemies of this becoming a societal norm.
