Going to drop my daily poker sessions and welcome all feedback. I play weekdays and day time with a revolving group of the same 20 players basically. NOT IDEAL, but is what it is in St. Louis.
+$355/4.5 hours. Best game in a while with 4 loose cannons w/$$ that over raise/3b and squeeze, unfortunately for me it resulted in widening my calling range and whiffing. Was able to pick up a couple med pots w/KK and flopped boat with 66 for ~$140.

+$330, 5 hours and game broke. Had AA three times and held each time for small pots. Made a couple loose pre flop calls that shouldn’t have. Flopped top and bottom pair in bomb pot, bet $40 on flop and called. Turn paired middle pair and checked, villain bet $125 and I folded.

Bit of a mixed bag today. Finally had full table and good action game. I overplayed AT to squeeze and ran into AA for half my stack early. Then played poor/passive poker with a sub 100bb stack. Lost AA to QJcc, a turned set to river flush and flopped bottom 2 to flopped flush. Lost $500 over 4 hours

Tried a different venue today, only 1/2 available and youngest player was probably 65. Worst game I’ve seen ever and left up $9 after 40 min of anguish. Drove to my reg casino and game broke after 2.5 hours. +$50 and may have spent half in gas lol.

Questionable weather kept players away today. Lost $115, got up to 6 handed but game broke after 1.5 hours. 👎

In heads up cash game all in. Hero missed flush/straight draw K high and tables hand, villain shows hero A high missed straight draw and slowly mucks. Should hero stop villain? Does answer change if it’s a reg you play with daily? Or just take the money and keep quiet?

+$450 today, 6 hour session and I didn’t win over $100 in any pot - just a grind. Been taking 2-3 hours, if not more, to get a full table. Feels like a slow death for viable day shift poker at my home casino. It will be a sad day when it happens. 😢

Short 3.5 hour session +$506. Had KK on KJ4♠︎♠︎flop, 8♠︎ Turn and blank river. Got called every street by AxJ♠︎ for $400+ pot. AK held 5/7 times. Had KK three times, JJ twice and AA once. Didn’t get a lot of action on them but picked up several small pots.

Finished February up $3K which is a little less than January but played a few less hours and the hourly was pretty consistent. I think I’m still running above expectations. Played poorly a couple sessions and one of them I pretty much lit a buy in on fire. Need to close those leaks.

Played my first 1/2 NL sessions of the year Friday, picked up $275 early and then $770 in the evening. Oddly there were no memorable hands, just small pots over ~13 hours of play.

About 5.5 hour session today and +$1k. Got lucky in a couple spots where I didn’t play the hands well but saved by the river and had KK hold up twice for decent pots.

Another day, another bad game. Thankfully I was recipient of the only big hand/pot of the day. I had K♠︎K♣︎ in SB with a $6 BTN straddle. I make it $20 and get 4 callers. Flop QT6♥︎♥︎, I lead $50, MP goes all-in $150, CO hesitantly calls I jam $500 eff CO call. Turn 2♠︎ River 5♣︎. I held vs AQ and A7♥︎♥︎.

May be time to transition to different casino or play afternoons/nights. Day game at my go to casino is drying up. Several days this year it hasn’t ran >3-4 hours. I play for flexibility and freedom more than trying to maximize $ but not getting enough hours in M-F day shift. Disappointing.

Making my first trip to Boston today for a long weekend. Aside from Celtics/Nicks game, anyone have any must do/see to recommend?

Well, 8 hours later I finally got ahead. A big $22 winner! Tied my longest session of the year I believe and it was a struggle all day. Lost w/QQ and TT 3 times each in first 2 hours. Had to grind all day, happy to recover.

6 hours into the session and player on my left just had his 1st hand that he didn’t VPIP. Straddles $10-15 every hand he can and he forgot to for first time. Haven’t been able to catch him a single time all day….I’m still holding out hope.

Uneventful day on the felt. Short handed and with a $145 win I think I was the “big” winner. Not much action and with snow storms this week it may be tough getting hours in.

Just lit $500 on fire in an hour. Played like absolute dog shit. Gamble gamble and no poker. Woof
February 14, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Made my first evening shift of poker last night after losing $500 during the day. Played pretty fast and loose and got the $500 back after a long 7 hours and two bullets. Was nice to play with randoms instead of the same day shift mugs.

Quick $500 loss in 1.5 hours. QQ<77 against a sub $100 stack and QQ<AA for $400 pre after I opened and 4b villains 3b then called v all in.
February 13, 2025 at 4:10 PM
First 1.5 hours of play today had KK (2x), QQ, 99 (3x) and all held. Last 2 hours nothing. Ended +$440
February 11, 2025 at 7:08 PM
Had a few too many drinks after poker yesterday so no hand histories. Lost $500, mostly on 2 hands. All in pre for $400 QQ<KK and JT<A8s all in on turn 8897 - A on River for $200.
February 11, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Played pretty poorly today. Grinded out almost 2hrs with a <$200 stack to finally get back to even (for 1 hand) and then drop $200 in the next hour to finish -$200. Lack of focus and called too wide early, chased a little when I shouldn’t have. Need to stop those leaks. #bebetter

Boring day of poker. Was never up or down >$100 until last hour of play. Picked up 5-6 small pots to finish +$281. Zero hand histories of interest, back at it tomorrow.

Tipping in poker - do you track how much you tip? How much do you tip/per hand? Does the amount vary by stakes? Any extra for high hands or large pots?

I tracked Jan: 73 hrs @ 1/3NL $393 tips on $3,269 profit. I tip $1/hand + more to larger pots and HH’s. May tip $5-10 > $500 profit hands.
